It’s one of the first questions people ask about custom grillz, and a fair one. The honest answer is that every set is quoted individually, because no two sets are built from the same choices. This guide explains what those choices are, what goes into the price, and how the quoting process works at THE HOUSE OF ROYAL T, so you can walk into a consultation knowing what to expect.
Here is the short version. Custom pieces at THE HOUSE OF ROYAL T start at $4,000. An $850 design deposit begins the design process, and you receive a personalized quote after your consultation, once the design is defined.
Why custom grillz are priced one set at a time
A custom set is made to fit your teeth and built around your design. Two people can ask for “gold grillz” and end up with very different pieces: one a single tooth in polished gold, another a full set of top and bottom teeth with diamonds. Because the materials, the amount of work, and the design all change from set to set, a fixed price list would not tell you much. A quote built from your actual design does.
The four things that shape the price
1. The metal
Our grillz are made in solid gold, in yellow, white, or rose, and never plated. The metal you choose, and how much of it the design uses, is one of the biggest parts of the cost. A set with open-face windows uses less metal than one with full coverage, and a set covering more teeth uses more. If you are deciding between colors, we can talk through how each looks with your design and your other jewelry.
2. Stones
Many sets are plain polished gold. Others add diamonds or gemstones, from a few accents to fully set teeth. We work with both natural and lab-grown diamonds, as well as premium gemstones. The type of stone, how many there are, and how they are set all affect the price. Lab-grown diamonds are often chosen when someone wants more stones within a set budget. Our guide to natural vs. lab-grown diamonds covers the difference in more detail.
3. The number of teeth
A single tooth, a set of six, or full top and bottom coverage are very different projects. Each additional tooth means more metal and more hand-finishing, and if it is stone-set, more stones and more setting work. Starting with fewer teeth is a common way to keep a design within budget without changing its character.
4. Design complexity
A clean, polished set is simpler to make than one with cut-outs, engraving, initials, a name, a logo, or detailed stone patterns. Personal details are often what make a set feel like yours, and they take more design and bench time. Your CAD design visualization shows exactly what will be made, so you can see how each detail adds to the finished piece before you approve it.
Fit comes first
Grillz are made to fit your own teeth. Every set is made from impressions of your teeth, taken in person at the house in downtown Raleigh or with an impression kit we ship to you. When your set is ready, we check the fit in person and make adjustments where they are needed. A set that fits well is more comfortable to wear, and that work is part of every custom set rather than an add-on.
How the quote comes together
The process is straightforward:
- Consultation. Book a private consultation at the house at 234 Fayetteville St. Bring photos, sketches, or ideas, and tell us roughly what you have in mind to spend. We talk through metal, stones, the number of teeth, and the details you want.
- Design deposit. An $850 design deposit starts the design process. We develop your design and show it to you as a CAD visualization.
- Personalized quote. Once the design is defined, you receive a personalized quote based on the actual metal, stones, and work involved. Nothing goes into production until you approve it.
- Fitting and finishing. Your set is hand-crafted from your impressions, then fitted and adjusted where needed.
Ways to shape the cost
If you have a budget in mind, say so early. The same idea can often be adapted: fewer teeth, polished gold in place of stones on some teeth, lab-grown diamonds instead of natural, or a simpler cut-out pattern. Because you see the design before it is made, you can adjust these choices with us rather than guessing.
